Review of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) by James H — 22 Oct 2012
This movie is freaking brilliant. Almost scene-for-scene a replication of the book it is based on, the film tells of the life of Raoul Duke, alias of Hunter S. Thompson, on a drug-filled journey into the heart of Las Vegas alongside his less-than-reputable attorney.
The visuals and stunning, and Gilliam's directing really aids the almost otherworldly feel that they give to Las Vegas. Johnny Depp is wonderfully crazy as usual.
