Review of Final Destination 2 (2003) by John P — 05 Aug 2011
I would have to say that this is one of the best, out of the four, by far. To me, it has to be in my top 20 of horror films of all time. Not that itâ(TM)s scary, per-se, but itâ(TM)s one of the fun horror movies ever made. But more on that in a sec, because I got to inform you on a quick run-down on this movie.
Once again, another teenager "cheats death" after having a premonition of herself and others perishing in a horrific pile-up and uses it by saving herself and a handful of other people, but is continued to be stalked by Death by claiming back their lives which should have been lost in the pile-up.
There were many things that they did right time around that certainly made up for the last one. For one thing, they actually give each of these characters depth and a purpose (rather than killing them off every 10 minutes) and made you wish that Death shouldnâ(TM)t kill off any of them. Ali Larter reprises her role and I like how she quickly rounds up all the remaining survivors making them all agree that they need to live through this ordeal. My favorite death scene, in this film, would have to be the news van exploding thus sending the barbwire flying through the air and slicing the junkie right through him. Since I am grading on a scale for this series, I would give it my best rating which is all five stars.
