Review of Flight of the Red Balloon (2007) by Al P — 12 Apr 2010
A some waht difficult film if you're not used to the kind that seem to be recording mundane day to day life. But there's a method to the no plot madness. The rhythms of the film become an opportunity to observe a family intimately and without cloying sentimentality.
However, the red balloon that hovers througout the film is a little distracting. A second viewing is required to appreciate the approach and nuances.
