Review of Focus (2015) by Tyler S — 01 Sep 2017
The cast turn in a wonderful performance, way better than what you would expect of the genre. A thorough delight. Smith and Robbie have chemistry that builds at a pace you can feel along with. The story is a little uneven, here and there, but not enough to detract from the enjoyment .
Some people are so used to seeing Smith fail to get real, they don't notice that this time, in this movie, he is. He is vulnerable and present. Excellent acting. He deserves recognition for that. The whole cast did great! A stand-out is D.
B. Wong as the wealthy gambler Liyuan.
