Review of Force Majeure (2014) by Fong K — 22 Aug 2017

You've just got to love the premise -- so utterly simple, but with profound repercussions - that manages to create a perfectly unusual situation where no one is quite sure how to react, challenging expectations and stereotypes.

The performances are excellent and only add to the almost unbearable awkwardness that is particularly evident during one scene that might actually make you squirm. There are, however, a few other scenes that seem pointless and a couple that go on for too long, but it's the ambiguous ending that will probably split opinions most.

Nevertheless, it is a memorable trip and one that shouldn't be missed.
