Review of From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (2000) by Bryan M — 30 Aug 2009
An improvement over the 2nd chapter, as a result of a better story involving Mexico locals and Old Western-style atmosphere presented as a prequel to the first movie. Though also released direct-to-video, the production values seem a better than the last movie.
Michael Parks delivers a pretty good performance as historical character Ambrose Bierce, delivering lines with a calm humor. Things do get a bit chaotic once we enter the horror stage of the movie, but that's to be expected in a story like this.
Overall, it feels fresher and more alive than the rather dull "Texas Blood Money." That may have something to do with the script by Alvaro Rodriguez, from a story by Alvaro and Robert Rodriguez.
Still Direct-to-Video B-Movie material, but a lot better than you might think.
