Review of Geostorm (2017) by Matthew S — 12 Nov 2017
There are many obvious flaws with 'Geostorm', with the use of the overused 'heroic ending' cliché (hero dies, everyone cries, hero somehow survives and is victorious, everyone cheers - yeah, THAT cliché), as well as the fact that the movie is a bit too confused about whether it is a disaster movie or a political thriller, but for what it's worth, it is still an enjoyable film.
'Geostorm' still manages to hold your attention, with the whodunnit aspects of the film being some of the more stronger moments, whilst the disaster spectacle is enough to keep the average viewer satisfied and the main cast, especially Jim Sturgess and Abbie Cornish, deserve special praise.
Overall, 'Geostorm' is an enjoyable movie, and while it is not by all means great, especially the sterotypical 'hero' cliché that is so obviously seen throughout the film, it is not a bad film either.
