Review of Get Carter (2000) by Marina N — 06 Jul 2012

It's been a while since I have seen this one. The thing I remember the most is the dark atmosphere all throughout the movie which created a special vibe to the movie. Sly was more an action star than a character actor but his coolness created a distinctive character.

Unlike many other action thrillers, this one also has great supporting cast. I haven't seen the original movie starring Michael Caine but judging from Caine's other work I can imagine that Sly is dong something different.

It might be a remake (and remake's are better be superior to the original) but I like to see it as another take on the idea. And it worked for me. And as for the critics who mention that it's a no-brainer, I suggest you realize that a great bunch of people don't go to the movies to take an intelligence test.
