A larger than life entertainer, James Brown was an unstoppable, hardworking singer that rose from a rough upbringing to become one of the most popular and influential entertainers of all time. So surely, making a film about him is a grueling task, but under the direction of Tate Taylor, it succeeds well.
Led by a ridiculously amazing performance by Chadwick Boseman, "Get On Up" successfully shares the life of the entertainer from a poor child all the way up to his massively successful life; full of his memorable performances to his legal troubles.
