Review of Getaway (2013) by Michael A — 30 Aug 2013
Courtney Solomon transcends the plebeian ubiquity that so many action films fall victim to. Audiences will relish every second of this cleverly written and often subtly moralistic adventure that elevates it above a simple 'car chase'.
The seamless transition from edge of your seat action, to raw emotion will leave a worthy audience with a new sense of self. Selena's performance is the icing on the cake, or perhaps the whole cake itself (hell, maybe even the table in which the cake rests).
Talent at such a young age is a rarity in which the 'once in a blue moon' phrase was originally coined. Gomez morphs into the role of 'The kid' while retaining the little piece of her which is present in all her roles thus far.
She is the true encapsulation of beauty, a shining beacon of fertility and virility. I'm not ashamed to say that during the film, I had to take frequent intermissions in which I discreetly relieved myself in the cinema bathrooms.
A child had walked in during one of these sessions and inquired what I was doing. I simply grunted "Gomez" as I climaxed staring deeply into and the young child's eyes (They were a stunning shade of hazel) He understood.
At least I think he understood...
