Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Morgan C — 05 Apr 2017
The movie Ghost In The Shell, directed by Rupert Sanders, including the actors, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Pitt and many more, is not a movie that I would recommend seeing in the theatres. Previously Ghost In The Shell was a comic book and more often than not, when a comic book is turned into a movie, many parts are left out or missing due to time restraints.
Although this movie was pleasing to the eye and every aesthetic, it felt somehow disconnected from what was really trying to be conveyed. The story line really doesn't present the idea that was originally written.
It appears as though a bunch of ideas were thrown together trying to make a movie but there were many good connecting points that weren't there. I have many questions concerning many aspects of the movie.
If you have previously read the comic book, then the movie might make more sense to you but for the viewers that haven't previously read the book, then there are many parts that will leave you hanging and wanting to ask more questions.
, So overall if I were to see this movie, I would definitely recommend it to be rented and seen at home for a cheaper price than viewing it in the theaters.
