Review of Gladiator (1992) by Blake R — 22 Jan 2015
I would give this movie a 4 out of 5 star rating. I think it was a pretty good movie overall but there were some parts where it kind of lost me. The recreation of ancient Rome is great, with all its realistic buildings and atmosphere and he is able to show with all brightness the greatness of the Roman Empire, with its political problems, military, love and treason of hate and jealousy, that still have a place in our world today.
But I thought they went a little too modern when they released the angry tigers because I'm sure they didn't have chutes that they could open like they did. But the story has a light of its own, to which all the great scenery and great moving picture.
The plot is pretty good, that is as dynamic as it is present. Even the fights, are displayed in such a way that all the blood is pretty cool, but still, making us feel like we're in it was awesome.
I would also like to point out the performances of the cast, that is pretty good. We have guys like Russell Crowe, who are coming out to be part of a new and extremely promising harvest of people who are making each time more fans around the world.
All in all, it is a pretty good movie that I would recommend to family and friends.
