Review of Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017) by Wolfie M — 15 Nov 2018
1 Star - 5 Stars The ultimate question? I am a huge fan of animation, sci-fi, monsters, Godzilla sure. Let me start by saying the animation? is absolutely gorgeous.
What Are The Elements Of A Good Story? Now for the ripping.
Here are some to consider that will hopefully summarize this film.
Plot - "Kill the monster". Almost as good as Dwayne Johnson in Skyscraper; a story about a building. I'm sure some movie executive spent many brain cells coming up with a movie about a building. Maybe, 1 brain cell. So in this case, 2 brain cells.
Characters - There are a lot of them and I never really cared for any of them. Good or bad.
Setting - The animation is gorgeous!
Style Tone - The animation is gorgeous!
Overall, I gave this movie 3 stars just because of the animation? or should I say ART is absolutely gorgeous. The minute details, shimmering of light, expressions, shadows and glows. It is kind of like looking at a gorgeous model. You cannot take you eyes off of. Yes, that is called staring. I am sure she/he has a great mind, personality, giving, talented. But who cares its shiny. There it is... This movie is "Shiny".... Watch and you will see what I mean and most likely will say, "yes, its good". In my case, three stars because the ART really blows my mind. This movie could have been written, directed and produced by Hajime Sorayama himself (did I just age myself?).
