Review of Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972) by David Z — 10 Sep 2010
The 12th Godzilla movie and it's another bad one. The only redeeming thing in this movie is the monster Gigan, an alien cybernetic dinosaur with metal hooks for hands and a buzz-saw in his stomach.
The plot deals with aliens trying to take over the world(AGAIN) with two monsters, Gigan and King Ghidorah. It's up to Godzilla and Anguirus to stop them.
Like I said, Gigan is the only good thing in this movie, he's a great opponent to Godzilla, actually puts a good fight. Unfortunately, the fight uses a lot of stock footage, especially the fights with King Ghidorah. The special effects are bad and the Godzilla suit it's in shreads, you can see the suit failing apart. And the roars of the monsters are painful to hear, most of their roars have been replaced by records scratching.
Skip it.
