The plot twist is absolutely ridiculous, even beyond the complete lack of explanations to give it any sense at all.

Dermot Mulroney definitely doesn't seem to believe any of his dialogue in the climax scene.
Winona Ryder, I can't even say she's in the simplest mode of her talent. There's not a shred of effort in her performance.
In general there's no suspense. There's no excitement. It all unfolds without motive or payoff.
Gone in the Night is a dreadful film in every way.
