Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Trystan C — 23 Jul 2012
Biographical documentaries are hard to review. If they're not entertaining, does that just mean the life of the subject wasn't interesting? That can't be the case with Hunter S. Thompson, probably the most dynamic journalist to put typewriter to paper and hundred-dollar bill to coke line.
But this was just lacking something, something I just can't put my finger on. For those wanting to know more about the man behind the character portrayed by johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing should definitely check this out, just don't expect it to capture the same energy.
