Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Mark B — 29 Mar 2009
This is a great review of Thompson's life and writings and a great review of the times that he lived through. From the Hells Angels, Ken Keasey and the Merry Pranksters, through Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, through the Chicago Democratic Convention, through the Nixon years and Thompson's decline.
Insightful, moving and hilarious. "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold....".
