This was an entertaining sequel. The movie is really geared to teens or preteens more than adults but as an adult, I enjoyed it. Wendi, Chris, and Ken added just enough humor and Jack Black never fails.
He has more of a cameo but provides the animated voice of the dummy. This movie would make a good companion to the other film by Jack, "The House with a Clock in its Walls." There is an equal amount of CG mayhem near the end.
Kids should love it with just the right amount of spooky rather than frightening. I don't understand why the reviews are so poor. This is a good Halloween film.
