Compared to Interstellar and The Martian, I find Gravity to be the weakest in what I like to call the "Space is Cool" trilogy. The visuals look amazing and it still has it's fair share of tense moments and scenes that look awesome in 3D.

However, I find this movie to be extremely overrated. Don't get me wrong, Alfonso Cuarón is not a bad director as I highly enjoyed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban but I was expecting more.

I think it's because of the mistake of not watching this movie in 3D since it makes the first-person sequences more tense. I really wanted to enjoy this movie and I know a lot of people loved it but my feelings are more mixed towards the movie especially since Interstellar took my breath away and nearly made me cry and The Martian was the best intentional comedy that wasn't even categorized as one of 2015 alongside Ant-Man with lovely cinematography and tons of education about botany.

The 90-minute long runtime meant that this would be a fast-paced adventure yet the pacing was a little too fast for me with George Clooney feeling, to me, like an advertised extra in his own movie where Sandra Bullock is the protagonist.

For a movie that's science fiction it doesn't really have that sci-fi feel to it. The Martian had the excuse of being set in 2035 with the possible technology that might be invented around that same time whilst Interstellar's story involved three possibly fictitious planets.

I think the term "science fiction" feels out of place in this movie. It's also the least scientifically accuate out of the three. It's meant to be touching but after witnessing Matthew McConaughhey see through one-way Skype cry when seeing his children having grown up into Jessica Chastain and Casey Affleck, I find myself disappointed by the drama.

So, sadly, I don't like Gravity as much as you do and I regret never getting the chance to see it in 3D though it's visuals and Sandra Bullock's performance along with a few tense scenes still barely manage to save the day.
