Watching this with my friend last night reminded me of how wonderful a storytelling format movies can be and the potency of great duet performances on the big screen... I say this thinking of the equally impressive 'road trip format' stories that came from the videogame genre - notably Joel and Ellie in last of us, and Kratos and Atreus in Dad of war. The palpable screen chemistry with the casting is magnetic to the viewer and we couldn't help but be completely drawn in by the quality of the writing and performances. For me and my friend then Green Book restored our dwindling faith in the ability for a great story to be told well in the 2 hour movie format without the need for near constant explosions super-powered beings or great visual concepts suffering alongside the unfortunately crippled dialogue (although to be clear I still very much enjoy the superhero genre!). Solid 10/10 material that feels timeless.
