Review of Gringo (2018) by Omar L — 18 Jul 2018
With the irreverence of a Shane Black movie (but lacking none of the depth), we have a movie where the ugliness of the world (and Americans) is portrayed by mostly non-Americans. It could be a brilliant satire on American arrogance, but there's something missing.
What we have instead is a collection of some very funny moments held together by some solid comedic performances from an ensemble cast. What it lacks is a strong story, with one wacky scenario leading to the next, making the movie, less than the sum of its parts.
