Review of Groundhog Day (1993) by Salman F — 31 Oct 2018
There was no yesterday and no tomorrow. Everything is the same or is it what we really feel; get up in the morning, go through the same activities, go to school, go to campus, go to work, is everything just the same yet? "Groundhog Day" is a simple film but it's more than that.
It's a real meaning of life, a philosophical meaning about life itself. This film has such melancholy moments; sometimes you laugh, you cry, you happy, and you feel uneasy. However, Bill Murray's character as Phil makes the film uncomplimentary from the comedy itself.
Bill Murray's performance as the man who lives through the same day over and over again is beyond acting in acting. He acted but acted again. He never let go of his character regardless of the various situations he lived.
He is a good and bad character. At the end of the movie, we can finally hear "Almost Like Being in Love" by Nat 'King' Cole instead of "I Got You Babe.".
