Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Eduard S — 28 Dec 2018

This was a movie that no one thought would work, with a cast of characters nobody cared about. The second biggest risk Marvel entertainment has taken since launching their cinematic universe. This film had an abundance of charm and laughs that kept me engaged until the end.

The formation of the team happened naturally and was not forced and was a natural transition within the story. The humor of this film is what provides a fresh narrative to a cookie cutter model. This is because of the talented director and writer James Gunn, his zany and unapologetic writing style was a great choice.

The Guardians take center stage in this film which leaves other characters to have less developed arcs. Ronan (Lee Pace) the antagonist of the film did what he was meant to do but nothing more. The characters and their dynamics is what really makes this movie shine.
