Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Brandon S — 19 Dec 2017
Following up on the heels of its predecessor is a hard act to follow, but Vol. 2 manages to do it with aplomb. As action-packed and aesthetically appealing as it is, on the other hand, it does manage to hit a lot higher on the ludicrosity meter than forebearer does.
I know it wouldn't be half as fun or acceptable if it weren't for the constant clash of good vs evil, but as fuzzy as the line may be, there's still a point between fictional and unbelievable, or at the very least, the minisculably survivable.
Of course, Baby Groot, in terms of sheer cuteness overload, could probably hold most of the rating on his own anyway, even if means barely being able to forgive the opening sequence for getting Mr. Blue Sky stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Seriously, I've never heard an ELO song that doesn't get stuck in my head for hours at a time....
