Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Felipe C — 13 Nov 2017

Let's start with this: GOTG2 is visually stunning. CGI has come a long way in recent years and this is a great example. The franchise's vintage, '80s, lightweight, humourous core is still there of course and my heartstrings were once more plucked in a surprisingly immediate way for such a film.

You'll be glued to your seat throughout even if the (startling) final act is where the real action begins. All in all, GOTG and its genre-breaking DNA continue to thrill despite occasional conventions.
