Wow!!!
So I watched this without knowing anything about it except that it started Sidney Poitier. I watched it because it was mentioned in an episode of The West Wing. When it first started and I realized it was going to be a race relationship movie my first thought was "OMG, not another one". I know this is probably one of the first but as a child of the 70s I'm burnt out on race stories. I get it already.
But, I stuck it out and I have to say I loved it. What a great movie. I wonder how controversial it was back then. I suspect sadly even now that kind of situation would still have lots of problems.
