With "Hail, Caesar" having a stellar cast and being directed by some of the best in the business with Joel and Ethan Coen, I expected a lot more than what I got. What at first appeared to be a comedic take on old-school Hollywood eventually became a bore of a film with musical and movie scene numbers taking up a duration of the film with no relation to the main story.
In fact half of this film is spent following Josh Brolin running around from place to place not accomplishing much. Not a movie worth re-visiting even for hardcore Coen brothers fans like myself.
