Review of Halloween (2018) by Brian R — 21 Oct 2018
A mostly dull and unenjoyable film. What a missed opportunity. The things that elevated the original Halloween were Dean Cundy's sensuous cinematography and Carpenter's brilliant use of foreground/background.
This movie looked like shit, was horribly written (that fussy story) and mostly terribly acted. The actress who played Jamie Lee's daughter was like a 3rd rate Anne Heche (who's 4th rate at best).
The pacing was infuriating i.e. the movie stopped and started so many times eventually I lost interest. Just a poor showing all together.
