Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Joel L — 22 Mar 2018
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers follows Michael's return to Haddonfield to kill his niece. I must admit that when I watched this instalment I had not yet seen the first one and was actually rather impressed with it.
Sure it's no where near as good as the first but at least it's well acted, and put together very nicely. The ending to this film was also effectively shocking and would have worked nicely for the end of the series.
However, the movies premise is a bit silly as there is no way that Michael or Loomis could have possibly survived that explosion from Halloween II and so the whole movie sort of comes across a little bit forced.
Overall though Halloween 4 is a decent enough slasher, it's certainly entertaining though no where near as good as the original Halloween.
