Review of Halloween II (1981) by Brock A — 25 Feb 2013
More action and creative deaths than in part one. Part two takes off on the same night as Laurie is rushed to the hospital so its' really one long movie. Watch em back to back for full terror potential!
True, Jamie Lee Curtis has not too much screen time, but honestly it's enough and it's extra suspenseful that her ankle is fractured and then she has a bad reaction to some drugs. This makes for the best suspense/chase scenes in any horror movie (see Elm St part 1 too). You'll be out of your chair screaming for her to 'run!'.
I agree, as much as Michael is shot and right in both eyes, yeouwch, you have to suspend disbelief, you just gotta. He's pure evil and you want to be scared shitless.
This passes my test for a truly great horror movie. That test being, after you watch this movie you'll think twice about walking into a dark room. And that there, that is the true test of a horror movie.
