Review of Hardware (1990) by Joel D — 01 Sep 2012
While the film includes obvious faults such as a strange plot layout, sudden changes in the base traits of its characters and a tendency to give the viewer what they want to see too soon; thus preventing future tension. However it is also undeniably one of the most incredible visual experiences that a fan of dystopian science fiction can have.
Couple its astounding mise-en scene and camera work with some fantastically warped cinematography, a base-pounding score and a wonderfully distressing atmosphere and Hardware more than overcomes its faults and in fact jumps its way to the top of my list of must recommend films.
