Review of Hell and Back Again (2011) by Andrew J — 02 Mar 2012
War in all its aspects. Gruesome, unfiltered and realistic. Without making a statement for or against the war, the film shows, in brutal reality, the individual story of somebody who got caught up in this machinery. Should make us think. You may see it as part of the job, you may see it as inhuman, but you're not going to remain neutral about it. Mandatory viewing for anybody who has been spared from the ravages of this war so far.
Extraordinary photography and story-telling.
