This was an absolutely massive step forward for the franchise. This is truer to the spirit of the original classic, and much more engaging than any Hellraiser sequel has been in at least 25 years. It's interesting, engaging, and creepy looking. Hellraiser isn't a story for everyone. The level where the metaphor works is about what evils a toxic human being can bring into the lives of people who love them, who are close to them, or whose lives they touch. It's meant to be make a viewer a little uncomfortable, but this movie is masterful at conveying the story its creators intended.
If you liked the original Hellraiser, and you like Clive Barker's material you should absolutely not skip on this.
