Way better than Prey since the character has an internal struggle and an arc. Pretty creepy and visceral, I'm a fan of David Bruckner. A lot of negative reviews seem to be dogwhistling under the guise of "duh it's not accurate to the book" when an androgynous Pinhead is more accurate.
I can get it where people who are die hard fans take issue with changes to the lore and theme or whatever. I don't remember liking the original all that much so I guess I'm not the target demo. I don't think anyone is srupid for disliking it unlike Last Jedi fans.
