Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Helen E — 17 Jan 2013
It wasn't really what I expected. Michael Rooker's performance was good, can't fault that but the rest of the film is a bit iffy. It was more of a horror film than a biopic. I know it's 'loosely' based on Henry Lee Lucas but you know, this shit was real, it did actually happen and it felt wrong to watch it.
And we didn't really get to see inside Henry's mind, why he did what he did. I dunno, it just seemed wrong and cheap to me. The effects were pretty decent for an 80's film though, i'll give it that.
