Review of Hereditary (2018) by Mark N — 16 Jun 2018
It is a week later after seeing what has taken up space in my mind, and it seems for the unforeseeable future. This is one astounding and deeply disturbing WTF drama/horror film that is a stone cold instant classic! Even if you don't like horror films, you should see it, and most importantly, in a theater.
A daring and inventive meditation on grief, with a phenomenal performance by Toni Collette, matched by Alex Wolff. I seriously doubt any other film is going to come close to affecting me the way this one did this year and it's time the Academy honor this masterpiece of the horror genre with the awards it truly deserves.
