This is such an accurate portrayal of many of the family dynamics present in Middletown, Ohio. J.D.’s story is not unique, as a large amount of the population hails from Kentucky, and is relatable as many of the millennial citizens of Middletown left, yet are still tied to the town by drug-fueled family members.
Again, it may not be what you want to see, you may not think it believable, but it is ACCURATE. Many people will feel seen when they watch this movie.
