Each minute is packed with what should be several laughs, but none of them hit home to the point that the entire film feels like an improv piece. In addition, the whole mystery at the center of it all couldn't possibly be more bare-bones.
In the end, the joke will be on you if you sit through an entire viewing of Holmes & Watson.
