Review of Holmes & Watson (2018) by Geoffrey H — 11 Jan 2019
Folks, I strongly recommend you do NOT see this bad attempt at a spoof of the well-known detective and medical doctor team. After a few minutes I walked out of the theater, came back and asked for a refund, and got a pass.
What pray tell was so horrid about this travesty? Well, the opening wasn't that bad. The poor little boy Sherlock gets picked on. From there we progress to some absurd violent slapstic involving Holmes and Watson.
Holmes is late to a trial where the judge has been making some inane absurd remarks about lowering his gavel. Watson comes in and shoots up the place. A couple bodies fall. He has made a point of shooting the clock.
Holmes walks in, sets his hat on a railing, He is oblivious to its falling off, which is a cheap juvenile absurd way of making him look bad. I have had enough of this insulting absurdity. I stand up saying "This is the first movie I have ever walked out of.
This is garbage, insulting garbage." Then I walk out.
