With an unbelievable plot, frustratingly stupid characters and a very slow pace, House of Sand and Fog is a disappointment. At least the acting and the cinematography were quite good. If you're expecting a masterpiece you will undoubtedly be disappointed.
It's not a bad movie, it's just not as good as what the critics make it out to be.
