Review of How Green Was My Valley (1941) by Matthew C — 01 May 2012
A simply wonderful story from John Ford of a Welsh valleys family at the end of the Nineteenth Century, filled with rich characterisations and beautifully shot scenes. Roddy McDowall is excellent as the youngest in the family and Donald Crisp gives a towering performance as the father.
Walter Pidgeon is the local minister.
