Review of How It Ends (2018) by Tim D — 10 Aug 2018
The film looks nice, but there is no real ending, nor is the 'disaster' explained. 'Something' happens at the beginning of the film, but whatever that was is never explained, and its effects are far too varied to make sense.
The ending is awful, with the final scene cutting off at what plot-wise should be the middle of the film. There is never any explanation of what is going on, which means that no one knows where to go, what to do, or how to do anything safely.
As a result, most of the characters are just wandering around with vague goals while waiting for whatever 'it' is to either stop or kill them all. Oh, and as an added bonus, for a country in total turmoil (supposedly) there are nearly no people wherever the main characters tend to be, which makes it look like 90% of the country just vanished or died overnight, and no one is talking about the missing people (unless they are far away, fate unknown).
