The best way to see this movie is right after you watch the first film, Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, Gift of the Night Fury, Legend of the Boneknapper, Race to the Edge, and Dragon Racing. Everything that happens in those episodes & specials build up to the plot of this film in a fantastic climax of a huge character arc for Hiccup as a leader and hero.
