Review of Hugo (2011) by Evan E — 26 Apr 2014
Fantastically shot and features some of the most vibrant, complex, and exciting visuals I've seen in quite some time. This movie is for lovers of film as it visits the birth of films from the early 1900s and those scenes are simply breathtaking and awe-inspiring.
It's not a perfect film, and some of the kid-friendly bits don't work, but it is definitely Scorsese's love-letter to films of his past and hopefully opens the door for modern audiences to look into such cinema!
