Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by Bristol F — 01 Aug 2011
This movie is a guilty pleasure. It has a bad script with boring characters and one note dialogue. The conversations are a whole lot of I'm smarter than you and I'm going to let you know it by being crude, sexist, and mean. Still yet it made me laugh. It was the same trick done over and over and over again and it was enough to get by on me. Jackass is the same in that you have a bunch of the same elements in every stunt with goofy humor and violent episodes, and my better half tells me this is stupid and it is, but it still makes me laugh. I can group this film into that same category of film.
Tucker Max is an asshole and one that has completely fake smart ass dialogue. No one talks like him, but I'm sure there are plenty of guys that would like to have a tongue like him. This is based on his supposedly true story book of the same name. I could tell you about the plot, but it isn't interesting enough to explain. The production is pretty low in quality and is on par with a straight to DVD release. 6/10 from me.
