My friends told me that the book was outrageously funny so I expected something close to entertaining from this film. Unfortunately I was not given this grace. I'm not going to let this movie ruin my impression on the book though, I heard the script didn't adhere to the book's plot style very well.
As a comedy flick on it's own it wasn't a total failure. It was still hilariously quirky and was not boring at all. Near the end it attempted to get all sentimental & meaningful, which was a real mistake.
Matt Czuchry and his buddies put on some decent performances and the chemistry was there. Can't say there wasn't some witty lines here and there either. Nothing astounding, but it's a satisfactory watch.
