Review of I Knew It Was You: Rediscovering John Cazale (2009) by Eric M — 09 Dec 2010
At a mere 40 minutes, "I Knew It Was You" is too brief to really delve deep into the life of John Cazale (his early years and stage career are pretty much skimmed over), but nevertheless is essential viewing for fans of the late, underappreciated character actor (best known to casual viewers as Fredo from the "Godfather" movies).
Interviews with Cazale's co-stars and loved ones (including Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Francis Ford Coppola, Sidney Lumet and Meryl Streep) and admirers such as Steve Buscemi, Sam Rockwell, and Philip Seymour Hoffman shed some insight into a brilliant but too-brief film career.
