Review of I Know Where I'm Going (2009) by Sausages M — 11 Oct 2013
Nice little tale, but not really up to the standard of other Powell and Pressburger films. The romance we're expected to believe in doesn't quite come off. Bizarrely, even the usually charming Roger Livesey struck me as a bit wooden in this, but I think that comes from what is a fairly lousy script.
It's very atmospheric though, and paints an accurate picture of the isolation of the Highlands. My problem is that apart from all that, and even a fairly nice twist at the end it's all a bit too by-the-numbers.
Acting wise, however, Pamela Brown steals the show despite having a fairly small part. Shame they didn't make more of her in this.
