Slow paced, limited character development and a plodding plot make this movie difficult to sit through. The subject of black people's difficult plight in 70's America is worthy of a lot more than this film offers.
Based on the high rating, I'm assuming reviewers upgraded based on the subject matter. Don't bother with this one.
