Review of In the Heart of the Sea (2015) by Late R — 18 Aug 2017
Although you might expect (I certainly did) some sort of an adaptation of 'Moby Dick' or an action-packed, whale-hunting adventure, it turns out that it is neither, a discrepancy that probably had a hand in its lack of success.
Instead, it's a story of men, their pride and greed, and how to get through a horrible situation that is the result of an over-abundance of those two characteristics. Although the film doesn't surprise you very often and is never really thrilling, it does have some incredible visuals and still proves to be far more engaging than it was given credit for.
